Golden State Valkyries Partner With CBS Bay Area for Inaugural Season Broadcasts
The Golden State Valkyries a local television partnership with CBS Bay Area, making the network the broadcast home for the WNBA franchise’s inaugural season.
The agreement enables Valkyries games to reach more than 4 million households across Northern California via KPIX and KPYX in the Bay Area and CBS Sacramento stations KOVR and KMAX. The partnership includes preseason coverage and will begin ahead of the team’s first regular-season game on May 16.
“Partnering with a broadcast powerhouse like CBS Bay Area ensures that Valkyries’ basketball will reach fans across every screen from day one,” said Jess Smith, president of the Golden State Valkyries. “This relationship will create immersive, season-long storytelling opportunities that will help fans connect with our players, coaches, and the excitement of WNBA basketball in the Bay Area.”
In addition to game broadcasts, CBS Bay Area will produce pregame and postgame studio shows, halftime analysis, and a weekly lifestyle program highlighting team storylines and community engagement.
