The Golden State Valkyries, the WNBA’s 13th franchise, will announce their selections in the Expansion Draft on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 3:30 p.m. PT (6:30 p.m. ET), broadcast live on ESPN. This draft is a crucial step for the Valkyries as they prepare for their inaugural season in 2025. Below are answers to common questions about the process.

Expansion Draft Rules

  • The Valkyries can select one player from each of the 12 existing WNBA teams.
  • Teams can protect up to six players on their roster.
