WNBA Continues Partnership with Nike in 12-Year Extension

The WNBA and Nike have solidified their long-standing partnership through a 12-year extension. The renewal ensures that Nike will continue to be the exclusive provider of on-court uniforms and fan apparel for the WNBA, alongside the NBA and G League, further elevating the women’s game globally.

The extended partnership will provide the WNBA with increased resources, including new content initiatives and a renewed focus on grassroots basketbal. WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert emphasized Nike’s pivotal role in the league’s growth.

“Nike has committed to a shared vision for girls and women’s basketball,” Engelbert said. “Our continued partnership is an opportunity to fortify avenues for development and enhance touchpoints across our dynamic fanbase while globally showcasing the WNBA.”

A central focus of the renewed deal is enhancing accessibility to basketball for young athletes, particularly girls. Through the Jr. WNBA and programs like Basketball Without Borders, Nike and the WNBA will work to provide new pathways for youth development. This partnership also includes expanded opportunities for players at all levels through initiatives like the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL).

In addition to youth development, Nike will continue its significant presence at marquee WNBA events, including the AT&T WNBA All-Star Game and the WNBA Draft, ensuring fans and players remain deeply connected through distinctive apparel and immersive experiences.

Nike CEO Elliott Hill highlighted the company’s dedication to women’s basketball, stating, “Our collective power, global reach, and genuine love for the game will only continue to create new pathways and opportunities for players and fans.”

This extension follows Nike’s original deal in 2015, which saw the company take over as the official uniform supplier starting with the 2017-18 season.

The partnership between Nike and the WNBA continues to grow, driving innovation and expanding the league’s influence worldwide.
