The Los Angeles Sparks Sign Forward Azurà Stevens to One-Year Contract Extension

The Los Angeles Sparks secured a key piece of their roster for the future as Azurà Stevens has signed a one-year contract extension. The 6-foot-6 forward, who joined the Sparks in 2023, has become an integral part of the team with her impressive performance on both ends of the court.

Since her return from injury this season, she has averaged 11.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 1.1 steals per game. Her efficiency is noteworthy as she shoots 48.6% from the field, 42.3% from beyond the arc, and 84.6% from the free-throw line.

Stevens expressed her excitement about continuing her career with the Sparks, stating, “This organization has believed in and supported me the last two seasons, and I feel grateful for the opportunity to continue to call LA home and build something special here.”

General Manager Raegan Pebley praised Stevens’ impact both on and off the court, highlighting her leadership, toughness, and positive attitude. Head coach Curt Miller echoed this sentiment, emphasizing Stevens’ versatility and championship mentality as valuable assets to the team.

Stevens’ career has been marked by success, including a WNBA Championship with the Chicago Sky in 2021. In her seven seasons in the league, she has accumulated 1,556 points, 798 rebounds, and 176 blocks.

The team also signed forward Stephanie Talbot to a contract extension through the 2025 season.
