Another shift at the top as Baylor regains top spot while Oregon moves into No. 2 in Sport Tours International/Hoopfeed NCAA DI Top 25 Poll
Oregon moves into No. 2 spot
The Her Hoop Stats Breakdown || Voting panel
Voters put Baylor back in the No. 1 position in this week’s Sport Tours International/Hoopfeed poll. Upsets characterized the beginning of conference season. As a result, the top team fluctuated with shifts every week in the top five.
Oregon, with impressive upsets at California and Stanford over the weekend, moved into the No. 2 spot, the highest ranking this season for the Ducks. The road win at Stanford handed the Cardinal their worst loss at Maples Pavilion since 1983.
Ducks junior guard Sabrina Ionescu earned the Pac-12 Player of the Week award. She averaged 27.0 points per game while shooting 62.9 percent from the field and 75 percent from three-point range against Cal and Stanford. She was just shy of a triple-double at Stanford with 27 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists.
Louisville shifted back to No. 3, Mississippi State came in at No. 4 and UConn rounded out the top five. Notre Dame fell a spot to No. 6 after a week that included a loss at Miami.
NC State, a team that stayed undefeated for the longest period this season, dropped two places to No. 12 after losing to North Carolina and Florida State last week.
Miami was the biggest winner in this week’s poll with a leap of five places to No. 20. The Hurricanes had a banner week, taking down Notre Dame and Pitt. After the victory over Notre Dame, students stormed Miami’s court. It was the first time that the Hurricanes took down a higher-ranked team.
South Dakota re-entered the poll at No. 25. The first time the Coyotes appeared in the poll was in mid-December after they earned a road win at Missouri when the Tigers were ranked at No. 23.
