Notre Dame tops first Sport Tours International/Hoopfeed NCAA DI Top 25 Poll for the 2018-19 season

Sport Tours LogoNotre Dame, the reigning national champion, tops the first Sport Tours International/Hoopfeed Poll of the 2018-19 season. UConn comes in at No. 2 with one first place vote.

The top-ranked Irish overcame a slow start to defeat Penn 75-55 Monday night. The Huskies took down Ohio State 85-53 to start their season on Sunday. No. 3 Oregon edged No. 18 Syracuse, 75-73, on Saturday. Baylor survived a tough test against No. 22 Arizona State Sunday afternoon with a 65-59 victory for the third win of the season for the Lady Bears.

Louisville comes in at No. 5 with two wins, the first over Western Kentucky (102-80) and the second against Chattanooga (75-49). The second victory gave head coach Jeff Walz his 300th career win.

Mississippi State, Stanford, Oregon State, Maryland and South Carolina round out the top ten.

Syracuse and Arizona State are the only ranked teams that experienced defeat during opening week.

Other teams that received votes in the poll: Northwestern, Minnesota, Duke, UCLA, Gonzaga and TCU.

Baylor
