On the second day of the Lunar New Year, Stanford and Cal get ready to rumble in the second game of the annual Battle of the Bay. Seniors on the two teams can reminisce about three previous seasons of the series and how they fared. Photographer Baraduin Briggs, provides some beautiful photos of the series from the 2014-15 season when the two seniors on each squad were freshmen.
Stanford’s Seniors
- No. 5, 6-3 forward Kaylee Johnson (Casper, WY). Major: Political Science. 4.6 ppg/7.6 rpg
- No. 12, 6-0 guard Brittany McPhee (Normandy Park, WA). Major: Human Biology. 17.9 ppg/5.3 rpg
Stanford honored Johnson and McPhee on Sunday, Feb. 11 when the team defeated Colorado.
Cal’s Seniors
- No. 3, 6-2 guard/forward Mikayla Cowling (Benicia, CA). Major: Sociology. 9.0 ppg/4.2 rpg/4.5 apg
- No. 12, 6-3 forward Penina Davidson (Auckland, New Zealand). Major: Legal Studies. 7.9 ppg/7.3 rpg/2.35 rpg
Cal win honor its two seniors on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 2:30 PT. It will be the last home game this season for the Bears. The home finale also marks Cal’s annual Lunar New Year celebration, with in-game and halftime programming celebrating the holiday.
