City of Phoenix unveils banner celebrating Diana Taurasi for becoming WNBA’s all-time leading scorer
The City of Phoenix unveiled a 20-foot by 40-foot banner on the east side of City Hall in downtown congratulating Phoenix Mercury guard Diana Taurasi on becoming the WNBA’s all-time leading scorer on Sunday. The team will hold “Taurasi Night” during a game against Minnesota Lynx on Friday, June 30 at Talking Stick Resort Arena. The contest will serve as a game-long celebration featuring a number of special video tributes and vignettes in-arena during the game to celebrate Taurasi’s legacy and contributions to the Mercury in her 13-season tenure. The Mercury will also give away 5,000 commemorative bobbleheads and unveil a banner in a brief postgame ceremony.
