Alana Beard, Sue Bird and Nneka Ogwumike help promote “Hour of Code” campaign

WNBA stars Alana Beard, Sue Bird and Nneka Ogwumike are among the world-class athletes featured in a video supporting the annual Hour of Code campaign that kicks off this week. The event is a project of the Code.org non-profit. The organization helps to expand access to computer science to women and underrepresented minorities.

The objective of Code.org is that “every student in every school should have the opportunity to learn computer science, just like biology, chemistry or algebra.” The annual Hour of Code is an international initiative supported by several technology companies including Microsoft, Facebook, Amazon, Verizon and Google.
