WNBA announces one-game suspension for Diana Taurasi
From the league:
Phoenix Mercury guard Diana Taurasi has been suspended one game without pay for receiving her seventh technical foul of the 2016 season, it was announced today by Renee Brown, Chief of Basketball Operations and Player Relations.
Under WNBA rules, a player or coach is automatically suspended without pay for one game upon receiving a seventh technical foul during the regular season. For every two additional technical fouls received during that regular season, the player or coach will be automatically suspended for an additional game.
Taurasi incurred her seventh technical foul with 1:41 left in the second quarter during Wednesday’s game against the Washington Mystics.
She will serve the suspension on July 16 when the Mercury hosts the San Antonio Stars.
