Cast members from the hit Broadway musical “Hamilton” to sing national anthem at Liberty opener
Cast members of “Hamilton,” the hip-hop musical created by Lin-Manuel Miranda about America’s first Treasury secretary, will help the New York Liberty kick off its 20th season on Sunday, May 15 at 5 p.m. ET by singing the national anthem before the team plays the Dallas Wings. The entertainment will continue at halftime when Montell Jordan will sing his hits from the 1990s for fans.
Watching the cast of “Hamilton” perform will be a treat for those who have been unable to secure tickets to the record-breaking musical. Last week, the work garnered 16 Tony Award nominations, the most for any show in Broadway history.
The resell value for “Hamilton” tickets can run up to $2,000 and the show, playing at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on 46th Street, is sold out until January 2017.
