UConn forward Napheesa Collier undergoes successful surgical procedure on her hip

UConn women’s basketball freshman forward Napheesa Collier underwent a successful surgical procedure on her hip to repair an injury that has been bothering her since high school. The procedure took place on Thursday, April 22.
Collier, an American Athletic Conference All-Freshman Team selection, will begin a rehabilitation program next week and is expected to be a full go for the 2016-17 preseason.
The O’Fallon, Mo. native played in all 38 games for the Huskies in 2015-16 and averaged 6.8 points and 5.2 rebounds per game while shooting 53.3 percent from the floor.
