The Seattle Storm today announced that the franchise has signed guards Laurin Mincy and Davellyn Whyte.
Mincy, a 6-0 guard, was drafted in the third round (27th overall) by New York in the 2015 WNBA Draft. During her senior season at Maryland, she averaged a team-best 13.5 points per game, leading to Second-Team All-Big Ten honors. Whyte, drafted to the San Antonio Stars 16th overall in the 2013 WNBA Draft, played two seasons for the Stars before sitting out 2015 while recovering from injury. She owns WNBA career averages of 4.2 points, 1.8 rebounds and 14.3 minutes per game. A standout at Arizona, she finished her Wildcats career with 2,059 points, second-most in program history.
Seattle opens its 2016 WNBA home slate at KeyArena on Sunday, May 22 vs. defending WNBA Champions Minnesota Lynx.
