FIBA announces schedule for the Rio 2016 Olympic Basketball Tournament and preliminary round opponents
FIBA announced the draws for the Rio 2016 Olympic Basketball Tournaments on Friday.
Seven teams have already qualified for Rio 2016. The U.S. secured its place as winner of the 2014 FIBA Women’s World Championship. Host country Brazil received an automatic bid from FIBA last August. The other five teams qualified as winners of FIBA’s round of continental championships in 2015:
Africa: Senegal
Americas: Canada
Asia: Japan
Europe: Serbia
Oceania: Australia
Twelve national teams will vie for the remaining five spaces in the Rio Games during the 2016 FIBA Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament (WOQT) in France June 13 – 19, 2016.

(August 6-20)
Group A: 1. WOQT 5; 2. Japan; 3. Brazil; 4. Australia; 5. WOQT 3; 6. WOQT 1.
Group B: 1. Canada; 2. WOQT 4; 3. USA; 4. Senegal; 5. Serbia; 6. WOQT 2.
The tournament will open with a Group Phase played in a round robin format (each team faces the other five (5) in its group). The top four (4) classified teams from each group will then move on to the Final Phase which will be played in a standard knock-out system consisting of Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, Bronze Medal Game and Gold Medal Game.

The olympics this year is going to amazing. I have Australia and USA in the finals.
