Connecticut Sun sign Jennifer O’Neill to a training camp contract
The Connecticut Sun announced today it has signed Jennifer O’Neill to a training camp contract.
Per team policy, terms were not released.
A 5-foot-5 guard who averaged 14.4 points as a senior at Kentucky, O’Neill was invited to training camp as a free agent by the Minnesota Lynx in 2015. She appeared in 12 WNBA games last season, scoring a career-high 12 points against the Seattle Storm on June 11th. She was waived on July 22nd.
O’Neill is currently playing in Israel for Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion, where she is averaging 16.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists.
Connecticut opens the 2016 season at Chicago on May 14th and will play its home opener at Mohegan Sun Arena on May 21st at 7 p.m. against the Washington Mystics.
