Draw results for 2016 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments to 2016 Summer Olympics
The official draws for the 2016 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments for Men and Women to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games took place at the House of Basketball, FIBA’s Headquarters in Switzerland on Tuesday evening. Twelve women’s national teams will vie for a place in the 2016 Summer Games. Five spots are still available.
2016 FIBA Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament (WOQT) Draw Results
Group A: 1. Cuba; 2. New Zealand; 3. France.
Group B: 1. Cameroon; 2. Turkey; 3. Argentina.
Group C: 1. Belarus; 2. Korea; 3. Nigeria.
Group D: 1. Venezuela; 2. Spain; 3. China.
The WOQT will take place in France June 13 – 19, 2016. The women’s basketball competition of the 2016 Olympics will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil August 5 – 21, 2016.
Seven teams have already qualified for Rio 2016. The U.S. secured its place as winners of the 2014 FIBA Women’s World Championship. Host country Brazil received an automatic bid from FIBA last August. The other five teams qualified as winners of FIBA’s round of continental championships in 2015:

USA Basketball announced the finalists for the U.S. 2016 Olympic women’s national team yesterday.
