Atlanta Dream forward Cierra Burdick undergoes surgery for stress fracture

Atlanta Dream forward Cierra Burdick underwent successful surgery on Wednesday morning at Emory Hospital in Atlanta to repair a stress fracture in her left foot.
Burdick’s rehabilitation is expected to last four to six weeks.
Prior to the injury, which was suffered at Chicago on July 21, Burdick was averaging 4.4 points and 3.2 rebounds. She appeared in 11 games and made four starts after signing with Atlanta on June 17.
Atlanta is currently last in the East with a 7-13 record. The team is mired in a five-game losing skid.
