Katie Lou Samuelson named the 2015 Naismith Trophy Girl’s High School Player of the Year

Katie Lou Samuelson, Mater Dei High School (Santa Ana, California)

Katie Lou Samuelson is the 2015 Naismith Trophy Girl’s High School Player of the Year presented by Hilton Worldwide and the fifth player to come from a California high school.  The other players were Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis (2011), Courtney Paris (2005), Diana Taurasi (2000), and Lisa Leslie (1990). In her senior season, Samuelson has led Mater Dei to a 28-2 record while averaging 29.5 points per game, 8.6 rebounds per game, and 2.4 steals per game.  Next year she will play college basketball for the Connecticut Huskies.
