Coaches voting results for Pac-12 postseason honors
In a vote of the league’s 12 women’s basketball head coaches, California senior Reshanda Gray was voted the Pac-12 Player of the Year announced league commissioner Larry Scott. Oregon State’s Ruth Hamblin was selected the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year and UCLA’s Jordin Canada the Freshman of the Year. Additionally, Oregon State head coach Scott Rueck was also voted the John R. Wooden Coach of the Year by his colleagues. The Conference Coach of the Year honor was renamed in honor of the late John R. Wooden, former legendary UCLA coach, during the 2010-11 campaign.

PAC-12 PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Reshanda Gray, Jr., F, California
Junior forward Reshanda Gray (Los Angeles) earns Pac-12 Player of the Year honors after averaging 18.1 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. She ranks eighth in the country in field goal percentage shooting a sizzling .576, which ranked first in the Pac-12. Gray was fourth in the Conference in scoring and tenth in rebounding. Her 37 points scored against Sac State on Dec. 3 were the second-most scored in a single game by a Pac-12 student-athlete this season.
PAC-12 DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Ruth Hamblin, Jr., C, Oregon State
A Canadian center from, Houston, B.C., Ruth Hamblin was a defensive force for the Beavers this season and was an integral in helping OSU to its best-ever season. Hamblin, led the Beavers to their first Pac-12 title, while ranking eighth nationally in blocks (3.83 bpg) and is 11th nationally in field goal percentage, .572. She is fifth in the conference in rebounding and is averaging 12.8 points per game. She led OSU’s defensive unit which ranked fourth in the nation in defensive field goal percentage, holding opponents to a .341 shooting clip.
PAC-12 FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR
Jordin Canada, Fr., G, UCLA
Jordin Canada (Los Angeles) came in and made an immediate impact for the Bruins in her first season. Canada ranks sixth in the Pac-12 in assists at 4.0 per game and seventh in steals (1.8 spg). Canada was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week three times this year and scored in double figures 17 times.
JOHN R. WOODEN PAC-12 COACH OF THE YEAR
Scott Rueck, Oregon State
Oregon State head coach Scott Rueck has been voted John R. Wooden Coach of the Year after leading the Beavers to their best-ever season. With a Conference record of 16-2, he led OSU to its first ever Pac-12 title. Along the way Oregon State proved it could beat the nation’s best teams and under Rueck took down North Carolina on the road, swept Arizona State and defeated California. The Beavers earned the top-seed team in the Pac-12 Tournament for and have been ranked as high as No. 7 in the country this season. Oregon State ranks in the top 25 in the country in eleven different statistical categories, including boasting the eighth-best assist-to-turnover margin (1.33).
