  • Nevada defeated Gottlieb’s former team, UC Santa Barbara, in their home opener Friday night with a 71-58 win. Junior guard T Moe led her team and recorded the first triple-double in Nevada history with 19 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists. She earned the Mountain West Player of the Week accolade for her performance. Wolf Pack Mimi Mungedi contributed 24 points.
  • Nevada head coach Jane Albright remains unbeaten in season openers with the Wolf Pack. The last game was her 900th career game as a head coach.
  • Cal defeated Pacific in their season opener Sunday evening. Sophomore Courtney Range led the Bears with 27 points plus 11 rebounds. Freshman Mikayla Cowling exploded for 18 points in her collegiate debut shooting 6-of-9 from the field.
  • Cal senior point guard Brittany Boyd is one steal shy of cracking the Pac-12 all-time steals list. Boyd (273) will match Nicole Anderson (UCLA, 1990-93) for No. 10 with her next steal. The senior has averaged 2.7 steals per game throughout her Cal career. She filled up her stat line during the game vs. Pacific with 12 points, four rebounds, eight assists and three steals before fouling out.
  • A win for Cal would improve head coach Lindsay Gottlieb’s home opener record to 4-0.
