Indiana Fever’s Tamika Catchings to make her 2014 WNBA debut July 5
From the Fever:
Indiana Fever star Tamika Catchings will make her 2014 WNBA debut when the Indiana Fever hosts the San Antonio Stars at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Saturday, July 5 at 5:00 p.m. ET on LiveAccess (radio: 1070 The Fan).
A three-time Olympic gold medalist, former WNBA MVP and WNBA Finals MVP and the league’s five-time Defensive Player of the Year, Catchings has missed the first 17 games of the season due to a sore back. She resumed full contact in practices on June 24 and has since been cleared by Fever medical staff to return to action.
In her absence, the Fever’s young and transitioning roster has played to an 8-9 record, winning road games on back-to-back nights this week at Atlanta and Washington. Indiana currently sits in fourth place in the East standings, looking very forward to the return of the eight-time All-Star and 11-time All-WNBA recipient.
Saturday’s game begins a six-game stretch featuring five home games before the All-Star Break.
