Notes on the USA Today Coaches Poll for January 28, 2014: No dropouts, Gonzaga on the rise
Connecticut maintains its season-long place atop the USA Today Coaches poll for the week of January 28, 2014. No schools dropped out of the poll. Big movers in the poll in a positive direction include Gonzaga, elevated to the No. 17 spot, a change in five places. Purdue moved to No. 16 up four places. Three teams moved three places up the rankings including Arizona State to No. 20, South Carolina to No. 8 and Baylor to No. 7. Nebraska experienced the biggest fall with a drop of five places to No. 23. Kentucky fell four spots to No. 12. Iowa State also fell four places, to No. 21. Teams that dropped three places include Maryland to No. 9, Cal to No. 19 and West Virginia to No. 24.
