Atlanta Dream signs multi-year deal to continue playing at Philips Arena
From the Dream:
The Atlanta Dream and Philips Arena announced Thursday that an agreement has been reached on a multi-year deal to keep the Dream playing its home games at Philips Arena through the 2015 season. The Dream has made Philips Arena its home court since the franchise’s inaugural season in 2008.
“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Philips Arena,” said Dream CEO Ashley Preisinger. “We’ve had tremendous on-the-court success at Philips, and off the court, our relationship with the staff has been strong. We’re looking forward to raising another Eastern Conference Championship banner into the arena rafters at the start of the 2014 season.”
The Dream has held a significant home-court advantage in Philips Arena, posting a 57-28 (.671) record at home over the past five seasons, including a 13-4 (.765) mark in 2013. The Dream had a franchise-record 11-game home winning streak spanning the 2012 and 2013 seasons.
That home-court advantage has helped the Dream reach the playoffs in each of the past five seasons, including Eastern Conference Championships in 2013, 2011 and 2010.
“We are proud that the Atlanta Dream will continue competing for championships at Philips Arena,” stated Bob Williams, President of the Atlanta Hawks and Philips Arena. “They bring a high caliber of play to a very devoted fan base that brings great energy to the building year in and year out.”
