Elena Delle Donne sweeps Rookie of the Month awards for 2013
The WNBA named Chicago Sky’s Elena Delle Donne Rookie of the Month for September, the fourth consecutive honor for the guard/forward. After earning the awards for every month during the 2013 season Delle Donne becomes just the second player in WNBA history to sweep the award (Tina Charles, 2010).

With 14 points against the Indiana Fever on September 6, Delle Donne set a new Sky rookie record for points in a single season. She bettered her record after the Sky’s final 2013 regular season game, finishing with 543 total points.
On September 11, Delle Donne showed once again her strength in clinch moments after hitting the game winning shot with 00.1 seconds on the clock to defeat the Phoenix Mercury. She finished the game with 18 points and six rebounds to help the Sky set a new single season rebounds record.
Delle Donne contributed 18 points, eight rebounds and two blocks in the win against Atlanta on September 13. Her two three pointers pushed her to a new Sky rookie record in three point field goals made in a single season (42). Delle Donne followed with another record setting performance on September 14 to end the regular season. Hitting four free throws, Delle Donne set a new Sky single season record in free throws made (157) surpassing Sylvia Fowles’ previous record of 154 accomplished in 2011.
