Ten players score as East leads WNBA All-Star game 49-43 at the half

Only Connecticut’s Allison Hightower was scoreless as a balanced East offense opened up a 49-43 halftime lead at the WNBA All-Star game.

Chicago Sky teammates Epiphanny Prince (nine points) and Sylvia Fowles (six points, three rebounds led the East), followed by Angel McCoughtry (seven) plus Tina Charles and Ivory Latta (six each).

Members of the Minnesota Lynx accounted for 32 of the West’s 43 points, led by nine each from Rebekkah Brunson and Maya Moore, with Seimone Augustus adding eight and Lindsay Whalen with six. Only seven players scored for the West, something sure to change in the second half.

Assists far outnumbered turnovers in the first half, with the East posting a three-to-one margin and Cappie Pondexter posting a game high four assists.
