The Los Angeles Sparks sign guard Briana Gilbreath to a training camp contract

The Los Angeles Sparks signed guard Briana Gilbreath to a training camp contract, it was announced today by Executive Vice President and general manager Penny Toler. Per team policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.
The 6-0 guard played 11 games (2 starts) with the Phoenix Mercury last season where she averaged 7.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 23.5 minutes per game. She set a career-high in points (13), including a perfect 5-5 from the line vs. San Antonio on Sept. 1, 2012. Most recently, Gilbreath played in Poland with Lidder Pruszkow, averaging 12.3 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 18 games.
The USC graduate was a four-time All-Pac 12 honoree, finishing her career averaging 12.6 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 128 games. In 2010-11, she was the first Trojan since ’97 named AP All-American. That same season she was voted by media as Pac 10 Defensive Player of the Year and All-Pac 10 after ranking second in the conference in steals (91), fourth in blocks (50) and leading SC in rebounding (269), blocks and steals.
