Minnesota Vikings purchase 500 tickets to give away for game one of the WNBA finals
The Minnesota Vikings purchased 500 upper level tickets for Sunday’s game one of the WNBA Finals to give away to fans for free. Beginning Wednesday at 8 a.m. CT, the first 250 fans that call in to 612-673-8400 will have the opportunity to receive a pair of free tickets, limit two per customer. The Lynx will play either the Connecticut Sun or the Indiana Fever for the league title.
“We’re happy to partner with the Vikings as we continue our stretch run of the ‘road to repeat,” said Timberwolves and Lynx president Chris Wright. “The support we’ve received from the community is tremendous this season. We hope that everyone who hasn’t had a chance to come down to Target Center will take this great opportunity to see the Lynx as they continue to make history.”
The Lynx finished the regular season a league-best 27-7 for the second consecutive season. They swept the Los Angeles Sparks to clinch their second Western Conference Championship. Minnesota enters this season’s finals attempting to become the first team in this decade to repeat as WNBA Champions. The Sparks were repeat champions in 2001 and 2002. Game 1 is Sunday, October 14 at Target Center at 7 p.m. on ESPN2. Game three of the Eastern Conference finals between the Sun and the Fever is Thursday at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
