Lynx: Rebekkah Brunson to miss two games due to injury; Julie Wojta signed to a seven-day contract
From the Lynx:
The Minnesota Lynx announced that forward Rebekkah Brunson will miss the team’s next two games due to a left calf strain. She is expected to return after the Olympic break. The Lynx also announced today that they have signed Julie Wojta to a seven-day contract.
Brunson is averaging 11.1 points and 8.5 rebounds in 26.5 minutes per game this year. She’s posted three double-doubles this season, adding to her franchise record 23 double-doubles in a Lynx uniform. Brunson ranks third in the league in offensive rebounding (3.4 orpg), fourth in total rebounding (8.5 rpg) and 13th in the WNBA in field goal percentage (.507).
Wojta, a 6-0 guard/forward, was selected in the second round (18th overall pick) of the 2012 WNBA Draft. She appeared in two games for the Lynx during the preseason, scoring nine points and grabbing nine rebounds in 28 minutes. As a senior with Wisconsin-Green Bay last season, Wojta led the team to its first Sweet Sixteen in franchise history, leading the Horizon League in both scoring (19.5) and steals (3.8), while ranking second in field goal percentage (.513)
