Video: UConn wins Big East tournament championship; Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis named Most Outstanding Player
Hartford, Conn. — Connecticut (29-4) overcame a confident Notre Dame  (30-3) squad to win their fifth straight Big East Championship Tuesday night at Hartford’s XL center in front of 9,227  fans. Freshman Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis led her team with 19 points plus eight rebounds. Bria Hartley added 18 points.
Skylar Diggins had 16 points for the Irish who failed in their bid to win their first conference tournament title.
Mosqueda-Lewis was named the Most Outstanding Player of the tourney.
The win marked the 800th career victory for UConn coach Geno Auriemma.
