Top teams square off today to honor the memory of former Army coach Margaret Mary “Maggie” Dixon (May 9, 1977 – April 6, 2006) in a double-header at Madison Square Garden. In Dixon’s first year, she led Army to their first-ever NCAA appearance. They lost in the first round to Tennessee. She died on April 6 of an arrhythmic episode of the heart. She is buried at the West Point Cemetery, a distinction usually reserved for high-ranking officials.
