Nae-Nae Hayden leads Baylor to win over Oklahoma State
Freshman Kimetria Hayden’s career-high 27 points helps lift No. 18 Baylor over No. 17 Oklahoma State 80-69 on Saturday in Waco.
"Nae-Nae has grown since she has been here. I hope she will take this film and say, `I want to do this every night and every day in practice.’ If she does, she is going to make us better," said Baylor head coach Kim Mulkey about Hayden’s performance. "Nae-Nae is a wing player. Unfortunately with the team, I have had her back up Kelli (Griffin). She is most comfortable at the wing, but she has accepted the role of helping us at the point. Now with the situation of injuries on the team it allows her to go and play the position that she is most comfortable with. I thought you saw a kid that was really just a spark for us."
The Lady Bears improve to 16-5 all-time against Oklahoma State during the Mulkey era, including a 9-1 mark in games played in Waco. They have won 17 of their last 18 home games. The game’s audience of 8,282 pushed the Lady Bears season attendance total past the 100,000 mark for the fifth consecutive season.
