Baylor leads the series 9-8 and the Lady Bears enter the contest riding a five-game win streak over the Buffaloes. Baylor is 5-2 all-time in the Ferrell Center vs. Colorado, 3-1 under Kim Mulkey.

Colorado
The Buffs are in the middle of a four-game stretch against ranked teams. Seven of Colorado’s final nine regular season opponents have been ranked at one point this season. The Buffaloes will also be looking to halt an 18-game skid on the road against a Big 12 Southern Division opponent. CU’s last win at the Big 12 South was a 69-59 win at Baylor on Jan. 7, 2004.

Brittany Spears tops Colorado by averaging 18.7 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game. She recorded her 20th career double-double, fifth of the season and first during Big 12 play with 14 points and 11 rebounds against Iowa State and has narrowly missed double-doubles in three of her last four games, falling just one rebound short on each occasion. Her 20 career double-doubles are fifth on CU’s all-time list.

Baylor
No. 15 Baylor, 16-5 on the season and 3-4 in league play, earned its first Big 12 road win of the season on Wednesday and seeks to win back-to-back league games for the first time this season. The team is led by freshman All-America candidate Brittney Griner who averages 19.1 points, 8.5 rebounds and 5.8 blocks per game. Her 122 blocks on the season are nearly twice as much as the next best player in the Big 12. Melissa Jones is BU’s second leading scorer (11.3 ppg) and top perimeter threat (21 3-pointers), but she has played only two of seven conference games due to injury. Senior forward Morghan Medlock averages 10 points and 7.3 rebounds for the Lady Bears.

Former Lady Bear basketball standout Monica Arnold Mitchell will be honored Saturday as a 2010 Baylor Basketball Legend by the `B’ Association.

Saturday night is Family Night for the Lady Bear program, families will be honored during halftime ceremonies.
