San Antonio Stars waive injured center Erika de Souza

The San Antonio Stars waived center Erika de Souza who suffered a lower right leg bone bruise during the team’s practice on Aug. 8. The veteran requested the waive so that she can return home to Brazil where she will complete her physical therapy. De Souza averaged 3.6 points and 2.6 rebounds in 27 games with the Stars this season.

The Stars travel to Seattle to face the Storm Friday, Aug. 18 at 9 p.m. before visiting the Los Angeles Sparks on Wednesday, Aug. 22.
