Atlanta Dream signs forward/center Jessica Moore after waiving center Courtney Paris

The Atlanta Dream announced Monday that the team has signed forward/center Jessica Moore. Moore takes the roster spot of center Courtney Paris, who was waived Sunday.
Moore, a 6-3 post player, will be joining her fifth team in her eighth year in the league. She played in 29 games for Connecticut in 2011, averaging 1.7 points and 0.8 rebounds in 6.9 minutes of action per game.
Moore’s best season came in 2009 while a member of the Indiana Fever. She started nine of the 31 games in which she played that season, averaging 4.8 points and 3.1 rebounds, including a career high of 19 points against Phoenix. For her career, she averages 3.0 points and 2.1 boards per contest, while shooting 42.4 percent from the field and 73.4 percent from the free throw line.
Moore was a standout at the University of Connecticut, helping lead the Huskies to three straight NCAA championships from 2002-04. She averaged 8.4 points and 5.8 rebounds while shooting 58.4 percent from the field during her collegiate career. UConn posted a 132-13 record during her four-year career in which she played in all 145 games. Moore was a teammate of current Dream guard Ketia Swanier during the 2004-05 UConn season.
Paris had played in four games for Atlanta this season, averaging 1.5 points and 2.0 rebounds in 7.3 minutes per contest. She averaged 3.4 points and 3.1 rebounds in 28 games for the Dream in 2011.
